What is a Estate?
An estate is a four-seat car with an extended load bay, holding four large cases where a saloon holds two. Transfers start at £75, a little above the saloon's £70.
The passenger count is identical to a saloon. Nobody books an estate for the seats; they book it for the boot. That makes the decision unusually simple: count the large cases, and if there are more than two, this is the class.
It is the quiet workhorse of a long-haul departure. A family of four flying to Australia for three weeks is carrying four full-size cases plus cabin bags, which is exactly the load an estate is shaped for and exactly the load that will not go into a saloon.
When the boot decides the booking
Luggage is the single most common reason an airport transfer goes wrong, and it goes wrong at the kerb, with a booked car that cannot take the bags and a flight to catch.
Estates absorb the awkward loads as well as the numerous ones. A folded pushchair, a set of golf clubs, a pair of ski bags or a cello all go in flat, where a saloon would need the rear seats down and a passenger left standing.
- Four passengers each bringing a large case
- Long-haul departures, where bags are full rather than half packed
- Ski and golf trips with long, rigid luggage
- Families travelling with a pushchair and a travel cot
- Anyone who has previously been caught out by a saloon boot

What an estate booking includes
The fare is fixed before you travel and covers every charge the journey creates.
- A licensed private hire vehicle and a DBS checked driver
- Sixty minutes of free waiting on airport pickups, timed from landing
- Live flight tracking against the number you give us
- Tolls, the congestion charge and ULEZ where the route crosses them
- The airport drop-off or pickup charge
- Loading help from the driver at both ends
Estate or 8 seater?
An estate carries four passengers and four cases. An 8 seater carries eight passengers and eight cases, from £80.
If your party is four or fewer, the estate is the cheaper answer and the more comfortable one, because a large van rides higher and firmer than a car. Move up to the 8 seater when the passenger count passes four, or when four passengers are carrying six or more items between them.
What our clients say about us
Very easy to book and the price was clear from the start. The driver was professional and the vehicle was clean. I would definitely use TAXIQO again.
What an Estate costs
All-inclusive fares by journey length: meet and greet, airport parking and VAT are inside these figures. The price is for the vehicle, not per passenger.
