This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones Taxiqo uses, what each is for, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences over time, and they let a site owner understand how the site is being used. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels work in comparable ways, and this policy covers those too.
2. Cookies we set
We keep our use of cookies deliberately limited. The cookies we set fall into three groups:
- Strictly necessary — these make the site work. They keep you signed in to an account, remember an in-progress booking so a refresh does not lose it, and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. The site cannot function without them, so they are set without asking and cannot be switched off here.
- Preference — these remember choices you have made, such as recently used pickup addresses, so you do not retype them on a later visit.
- Analytics — these tell us which pages are read, which are ignored, and where a booking is abandoned, so we can fix what is not working. They are only set once you have agreed to them.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by services we rely on rather than by us directly. Payment providers set cookies to process a transaction securely and to detect fraud. Mapping and address lookup services set cookies when you type an address into a booking form. Where we use analytics or advertising services, those providers set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies, and each provider publishes its own policy.
4. How long they last
Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set period, which for our own cookies is no longer than 12 months, after which they expire and are set again only if you return.
5. Managing cookies
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit the site, and change that choice at any time by clearing your cookies and reloading the page. Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies through its settings — look under Privacy or Security. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site working, including sign-in and the booking form.
6. Do Not Track
Browsers may send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed industry standard for responding to it, so we do not currently change our behaviour when we receive one. Our cookie choices give you direct control instead.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add or remove a service that sets cookies. The current version is always published on this page.
8. Contact
