Overview

What is a Mercedes E-Class?

The Mercedes E-Class is our standard executive car, seating up to three passengers with two large cases, from £80. It is the class most corporate accounts default to.

It carries one fewer passenger than a saloon on purpose. The middle rear seat is left out of the count so nobody in the back is sitting three abreast on the way to a meeting, which is the difference between a car you can work in and a car you merely fit into.

What the fare buys beyond the badge is consistency. The same specification every time, a driver in a suit, a cabin quiet enough to take a call in, and a car that looks right pulling up outside a client's building rather than one that invites comment.

Who it suits

Where an E-Class earns its fare

Business travel is the bulk of it: airport runs either side of a trip, and city journeys between meetings where the car doubles as an office for twenty minutes.

It is also the class people choose for occasions that are not corporate at all. An anniversary dinner, a christening, a hospital appointment where arriving comfortably matters more than arriving cheaply.

  • Executives travelling to or from an airport
  • Client collections where the car is part of the impression
  • Roadshows and multi-stop days in the city
  • Corporate accounts billed monthly on one invoice
  • Anyone who wants to work or take calls in transit

E-Class or S-Class?

Both seat three with two cases. The E-Class starts at £80, the S-Class at £110.

The E-Class is the right default for everyday business travel and the one most accounts book by standing arrangement. The S-Class is what you move up to when the passenger is the reason for the journey rather than a participant in it: a board visit, an incoming client you are trying to win, a wedding. Same seats, materially different arrival.

Very easy to book and the price was clear from the start. The driver was professional and the vehicle was clean. I would definitely use TAXIQO again.

The middle rear seat is deliberately left out of the count, so two passengers travel in the back with space to work rather than three sitting shoulder to shoulder.
