Straight from arrivals to the cruise terminal, with the luggage in the boot the whole way. One fixed fare, and a driver watching your flight.
A Heathrow to Southampton taxi transfer is a booked private hire journey from the airport to Southampton at a price agreed before travel. Taxiqo runs it from £160 in a saloon, from the terminal to the door you choose in Southampton.
The drive is 67 miles, almost all of it motorway: the M25 south to junction 12, then the M3 all the way down to Southampton. Allow 75 to 105 minutes. The slow part is usually the M25 around Heathrow and the M3 near the M25 at peak times; once past Basingstoke the road is normally clear.
Most people booking this journey are going to sea. They have landed at Heathrow to join a cruise, or they are coming off a ship and flying home the same day. That means heavy luggage, a fixed boarding window, and very little appetite for changing trains with four suitcases.
Below you will find the fare in every vehicle class, how pickup works at Heathrow and drop-off at the Southampton cruise terminals, what the price includes, how a car compares with the coach and the train, and how to book. The questions at the end cover timing, delayed flights, luggage and the return journey.
There is no direct train from Heathrow to Southampton. Rail means getting away from the airport first and changing at least once, with your luggage, for a journey of around 2 hours when every connection works.
The coach is direct and cheaper for one person, but it runs to a timetable rather than to your flight, and it drops at the coach station rather than at your cruise terminal. A private airport transfer takes you from arrivals to the terminal door.
One fare covers the vehicle and everyone in it. It does not change with the time of day, the traffic, or how long you wait.

Heathrow has four passenger terminals, and the Port of Southampton has several cruise terminals spread along the docks. Getting the right one at each end saves a lot of walking with heavy cases.
We take your flight number at booking and work out the Heathrow terminal from it. For the port, tell us your ship or the terminal named on your cruise documents and we drop you at that terminal. The same fare applies to other Southampton addresses, such as a hotel or the station.
Every charge the journey creates is already inside the quoted figure, so the amount at booking and the amount at the end are the same.
The coach is the cheapest way to Southampton and takes roughly 2 hours. If you are travelling alone with one bag and plenty of time before boarding, it is a sensible choice.
The train is the least convenient: around 2 hours with at least one change, and you still need a taxi from Southampton Central to the docks. It rarely suits a cruise passenger with luggage.
A car is the better choice when there are two or more of you, when you have cruise luggage, or when your flight might land late. Four people sharing an estate car at £200 pay about £50 each, and eight sharing the Vito pay about £33 each, door to terminal.
Give us your flight number and your destination in Southampton. For a cruise, add the ship name or terminal so the driver goes straight to the right one.
Put Heathrow as the pickup and your Southampton address or cruise terminal as the destination. The fare returns instantly.
This is what we track. If the flight lands late, the pickup moves with it at no extra charge.
Count the cases, not just the people. A saloon takes two large cases; cruise luggage usually needs an estate or larger.
You get written confirmation with the fare and the driver's details. Pay by card, cash or business account.
Very easy to book and the price was clear from the start. The driver was professional and the vehicle was clean. I would definitely use TAXIQO again.
